Uschi Jacob on Burano, Venice Carnival, February 2017
Hex colour reference: #ff9baa
A colourful note: salmon joined the Crayola crayon band as a new shade in 1949.
It is named after the colour of salmon flesh and its first recorded use in English was in 1776. Whether you think this crayon makes an accurate match for the fish will depend on the kind of salmon you are familiar with: the real shade varies from almost white to deep pink, depending on how rich a diet of krill and shrimp that fish has eaten, plus any artificial colouring that may have been added.
