Poured Lines

DSC08887-1

“Poured Lines: Southwark Street” by Ian Davenport,  London,  August 2014

This stripy mural was the work of Ian Davenport in 2006, as part of a local project to improve Bankside’s streetscape.  It is made of 48 durable steel panels, with stripes applied by pouring liquid enamel in multiple colours down onto the metal and allowing gravity to do its work.  The panels were then fired in a furnace at 82.5°C, making them capable of withstanding London weather.
