The Gallery on Argyle street,  Glasgow,  November 2017

Sam Bates, aka Smug, an Australian artist now based in Glasgow, has provided his adopted home city with a great array of street art.  Featured here is the Gallery, a giant wallspace that bears Smug’s own interpretations of several famous pieces of art, including Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Da Vinci’s famous model has been settled in front of some Glasgow sights for her portrait session, clutching a famous Scottish beverage for refreshment, and has become known to locals as Mona Lassie.

  1. If the character in the take of Edward Munch scream looked like that, rather in the original, I might have paid more attention to the original painting 😃
