Rooftops of Sheki

Sheki,  Azerbaijan,  March 2017

The old streets of Sheki, in northern Azerbaijan, are full of fascinating buildings with great roofs.  Sadly, time, weather and cost of repair have taken their toll, and many have been repaired using corrugated metal rather than traditional materials.  I suppose metal has become the new tradition.

  1. Oh you’ve been to so many incredible places. I’m actually enjoying the chilly air of this beautiful shot as I’ve just come indoors, too hot on my terrace and it’s not even 9am yet!
