
The leafless trees that give us such striking silhouettes against our wintry skies, are known as deciduous, which actually means “falling off at maturity”. This grand fellow looks pretty mature, but there may be some saplings who feel the name is not particularly glamorous.

Well I never knew that is what deciduous actually means. A word I use lots but don’t really think about. So thank you for that Debbie, and also for such a lovely spiky tree 🙂

Yes, it’s shape stands out well in b&W and it looks more domineering.
But I’m having a hard day at work and added the colour one to brighten my day 🙂

Yes, it’s a lovely park with a great lake, old trees, and herons and kingfishers.
