I’m a Fan of Brutalism

This building on the Euston Road, right opposite St Pancras Station, had been under renovation for so long that I had forgotten what was there. But I was delighted to see its covers come down to reveal the renovated 1974 Brutalist building looking smart and sexy.

Standard Hotel, Euston Road, London, November 2019

The former Camden Town Hall Annex now has a new life as the first Standard Hotel outside the US. It is clean and bright, is topped with a new steel and glass roof that houses light-endowed suites, and there’s a striking red lift zipping up and down outside the building.
