Here in the UK, we had our sunniest April on record this year, with a damper and greyer May on forecast. But, yesterday, the sun surprised us and Mr Whippy was ready to help us enjoy.

Mr Whippy is a popular summer sight, having made his first appearance in vans in the UK in 1958. The brand merged with Wall’s in 1964, but the name will seen be seen and heard all over the country, in fact all over the world, with the word used as general term for soft ice cream.

If that had been in Derbyshire the police would have issued Fixed penalty to Mr Whippy. There interpretation of the rather vague rules is more strict than many.

Mr. Whippy is new to me. Do you know if he has traveled to the USA? Good thinking, never would have thought of the lot of hands with the ice cream! No, funnily enough I’m not a soft ice cream fan, and contact avoidance for me means steering away from open food and lots of hands!
