There was plenty of red, white and blue hanging from home windows, yesterday, and quite a few people sitting in their gardens with glasses of sparkly. This hand-made banner was my favourite.

There are a lot of banners like these in our village. Seemingly Lockdown Lessons at the primary school included making suitable pennants.

Small tokens but a big impact in these troubled times…. Maybe lockdown made the VE celebration more dignified… Nor were the memories just relating to war time events. I shed a few tears 😢
