This dramatic mural is the work of Yola, an artist based in Paris and London, She studied animation at the Polish Film School at Lodz and CFT Gobelins in Paris and has worked as designer on some major European movies. She is now a passionate street artist, basing her works on classical paintings, using contemporary models.

A fleeting viewer escapes the anguish
Quai de la Loire, Paris, July 2018
She creates giant collages of her photographed models, prints them on blue-back paper and pastes them up on large walls. This Paris one was created as part of Festiwall 2018, but you will find her work in a number of cities around the world, including London, Melbourne and Warsaw.

What a disturbing image! Interesting technique for making huge and realistic paintings.

I’d never seen her work before. It’s very nice and aptly named. Thanks for sharing Debbie.

There was something in Brick Lane, but probably long gone! There’s a fairly new one in Liverpool though …
