It was a very weak display of the northern lights over Colpoy’s Bay. On the other side of the peninsula over Lake Huron they were much brighter. I also later found out that Earth was passing through three different meteor showers that weekend which explains the shooting star.

This week should be good star shooting too – peak of Perseids on Weds 🙂 Weather obliging, I’ll probably give it a go

The Perseids had recently started when I took the photo and then I saw a reference that there was two other meteor showers taking place and visible in this part of Ontario.

Well you never know…..they started in Southampton and Brighton their third. Maybe St Albans could host their fourth!
