I do not really remember the doors, but remember my London days as a youngster exploring the crypt of St. Pauls with the well known departed. Living in the East End it was not so far away. I believe Poet’s corner is also there. Perhaps these doors are the outside entrance to the crypt. St. Pauls offers many opportunities of exploration.
The City of London was our neighbourhood, living in Bethnal Green and mum would often take me to the varioius sights, especially when I had school holidays. I grew up with it all. The whispering gallery of the dome was another experience I enjoyed.

I must explore it some time. I’ve climbed up inside the dome a couple of times but never been to the crypt. Thanks for the tip

I had never noticed them before. And I don’t think I’m of appropriate deliver to enter that way 😉
