The lion and the unicorn

Queen Elizabeth Gate, Hyde Park, London

These highly decorated gates were installed to commemorate the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and unveiled by the Queen in 1993.

Here, we are greeted by two national symbols: the lion of England and the unicorn of Scotland. The central portion was designed by David Wynne and the sparkling stainless steel gates are the work of Giuseppe Lund.
