The work of Itsmancho, Hackesche Höfe, Berlin, as seen in October 2023
If you take a look at last week’s cycling art, you’ll see that this fashionable trio have taken the cyclist’s spot on the wall in Hackesche Höfe.
A great demonstration of the temporary nature of street art.

I like this new one, very colourful. What a pity murals don’t always stay forever…
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Debbie.

I think a big part of street art’s attraction is that it is transitory. I am planning to go to a exhibition by Nicholas Party who started with murals. He has painted a lot of his pieces on the walls of the inside of the museum (the Frieder Burda Museum in Baden-Baden) with the knowledge that one the exhibition is over they will be painted white and will be – gone.

I agree, Elke. I am sometimes sad to see a mural that I love vanish, but I know that is just a way of having regular, and ad-hoc, external exhibitions that change on a regular basis. It’s one of the reasons I’m keen to take photos so that I can look back.
