Hi Debbie. Fascinating photo this week. A funny thing happened when I read your OWS word. I misread the word “Maximalism” and had to do a double-take because I thought you said “Maximilian,” which was an ancestor’s last name. But I digress. Here’s my submission of Herons maximizing their holiday cheer: https://babsjeheron.wordpress.com/2023/12/20/whimsy-myrth-from-the-beautiful-great-blue-herons-not-necessarily-wordless-wednesday/

Ha ha! I’d have forgiven you if you had featured a Maximilian instead 🙂

Nice way to display photos. Not sure I got the “maximalism” part right 🙂 https://mariawijk.wordpress.com/2023/12/17/maximalism/

Yes, it was a fascinating display. I loved the light shining through these window images.
And I enjoyed your maximalism, Maria. Never a right or wrong in art – and my only suggestion would be to crop it even tighter, losing heads and captions. More “arty” that way, but probably not what you want as a memory of what you saw.

Thanks! I’ll give it a try -cropping it even tighter.

I used to work for a company based in Glasgow who’s offices were in a block designed by John Barr. The windows used to annoy me because you couldn’t get a good view of the street and although I liked the design, the building seemed very incongruous for the area. https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2023/12/17/maximalism/

How fascinating, Steve.
Not an architect I knew before this exhibition, and it was the Japan theme that drew me in. It turns out he has spent much time in Japan and has a book of his work that I must take a look at.

What a fascinating way to present this work – thank you for sharing it with us!
Here’s mine; not quite art. Hopefully maximal enough.

What a fascinating shot, Debbie! Thanks for the special mention, especially as I rarely do that sort of photo. Good encouragement. 🙂 My post will link up in about 4 hours. Happy Sunday to everyone, those already there and those not yet.

It’s a great type of image to concentrate on taking when you feel stressed or tired. You have to slow down to see these images

This requires more than a short glance – to some extent it is confusing but mesmerising. My post ties in directly with last weeks post: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2023/12/17/my-biggest-model/

The photos on display were great in their own right, but I’ve loved there contrast with the hazy and busy view outside.
