Even more stark than our closed Coal Mines…. how times change. If I recall correctly, it was used as a film set for a James Bond Film (and no doubt others). There was documentary on TV some time ago telling the story.

I’ll have to look for the documentary. A fascinating place that actually achieved the world’s highest population density in the world at its peak. More photos when I get home. At the moment I can only manage to post the odd shot from my phone.
