St Albans Morris performing at St Albans Day, St Albans, Hertfordshire, June 2024

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

Good one Debbie Morris Dancers always amuse, I just can’t help it. Maybe it’s the bells.
I am getting mileage out of the Clydesdales

And a good time is being had by all. Round here, morris teams are still divided into male or female. Good to see yours are mixed.

Always good to see a Morris side in action with smiles on their faces. http://alondonmiscellany.blog/2024/06/29/see-the-river-join-the-queue/

I only know Morris dancers from the Discworld. Terry Pratchett had a fondness for them. The dancers in your photo seem like they’re having fun – although I gather that women are not traditional in a Morris dance. — Here is my sixer:, a double dipped on today: https://travelwithintent.com/2024/06/29/part-of-st-albans-day-festivities/

You’re right, Elke, it is traditionally a men’s dance. This group welcomed women in 2016 and changed their name from St Albans Morris men to St Albans Morris.

It wasn’t so good for the parade of giants in the morning, but the afternoon was lovely
