Sty Albans, Hertfordshire, August 2024
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

I’ve never had a pickled egg, but I like a dry cider. 😁

Like most of your commenters, I don’t ‘get’ pickled eggs so I shan’t be popping in for one. And I’ve just come back from the seaside, so here’s mine: https://margaret21.com/2024/08/10/are-those-statues-in-the-sea/

They have never appealed to me either. Nor cider, for that matter

They date back a long way – pickling was such a key way to preserve food and pickled eggs became a traditional snack or accompaniment in British pubs and fish and chip shops. Also big in parts of the US, brought in my the Amish apparently, and often coloured pink to add colour to festivals.

Does that constitute two of your five a day? Nice diet if it does 🙂 http://alondonmiscellany.blog/2024/08/10/cant-be-seen-from-anywhere-else/

A flimsy 66 words, Debs. For amusement. Happy Saturday!

I don’t think I have ever had a pickled egg 🤔 I have had cider though. A wine cellar near where I lived in a share house in Sydney had Scrumpy cider. We used to take our flagons and get them filled from the tap. They also had all sorts of wine by the BYO container too.
There real bottled wine range was excellent.
