I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.

To be honest, the ONLY reason I’d want to go to Sri Lanka is because of Ondaatje’s books. Damn, but that man can write! I loved ALL of his books.

I would suspect Sri Lanka based on the volumes of Michael Ondaatje works but that’s jsut a wild guess.

I normally count hyphenated words as 1 word (unless it suits me to count it as two!)

Sometimes it’s that way round, but often I know where I want to go and then do as much riding as I can to discover the history and culture of the place.

Goodness, you’re certainly having a Michael Ondaatje moment aren’t you? I’ve only read The English Patient, and that many years ago. The only book that I’ve read from your choices is Fearless Night, which I really enjoyed – if that is the right word for such unhappy times. You ought to book-blog more often- you’re a fearless reader! Have a wonderful next expedition – wherever you’re going.

I love Ondaatje’s writing – very poetic. I watched English Patient, but it’s not the right country. I highly recommend Running in the Family – beautifully written, with sense of humour, and reveals much about his life and his home country. I loved Brotherless Night and Cinnamon Gardens too. And Seven Moons is going with me.
