Yes, awful. But the little litter seems to create the biggest problems. I just saw a clip (from Bondi Vets, I think), about a really sick turtle found drifting in the sea and close to dying. They found that the reason was a piece of plastic string that had wrapped itself around the turtle’s neck. I think, unfortunately, we can never get that Pandora’s box closed again.
