Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

Love seeing the blooms on the trees and their scent is wonderful. My 6 words have to do with our stormy weather: https://fakeflamenco.com/2026/04/18/2-hours-before-the-hail-storm/

Very different indeed. But a real beauty nonetheless

We saw so many of those trees last week in London but none of us knew for sure what kind of tree they were so perhaps you would tell me. I have almost the duplicate picture! Bernie

Mid-April is cherry blossom time in London – mainly ornamental cherry trees (Prunus) but there are also apple and plum trees adding to the array.

It’s glorious at present. The local botanical gardens have asked locals to NOT visit at peak hours, i.e. around lunchtime, early afternoon and weekends because the plants are suffering. Anway, the Gruffalo mouse has his/her own opinion: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2026/04/18/mouse-spring-blossoms-are-going-down/

That’s quite something for a botanical garden. Verging on sakura crowds in Japan!

It’s a very small garden, it used to be the private garden of a local “Gründerzeit” industrialist (Edwardian period, that would make it, I guess). It has been open to the public since around the year 2000, it was just a high hedge to me as a child. It’s still privately owned (by the company) but open to the public free of charge on most days.

It definitely is. On the one had one hopes that it stays an insider tip but that would be greedy, wouldn’t it?
