Daunt Books on Marylebone High Street forms a regular part of my travel planning.
Daunt Books now has a few branches in London but the original store on Marylebone High Street is my clear favourite. It is set in a striking Edwardian building, with enticing window displays, beautiful oak galleries and atmospheric skylights.
There is a large, well-displayed travel section spread across 2 levels. Sections are clearly labelled by country, and travel fiction is shelved in each country section along with the travel guides and other non-fiction.
It is also a great place to pick up some general holiday reading: there is a large fiction section on the ground floor, including an excellent children’s section at the rear. I never visit without something catching my eye; it is the perfect place to discover something new.

I love Daunt Books, they’re fantastic! Another great London travel bookshop is Stanfords in Covent Garden.

I agree, I like Stanfords for maps. But for a good rummage and a relax in a cosy armchair I prefer Daunt Books. Thanks for coming by
