Often likened to a dragon creeping across the mountain ranges, the Great Wall of China is a stunning sight. Some walls were built as early as the seventh century but little survives from that period. Much of the wall that can be seen today is what was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty. That in no way detracts from the majesty of the mountains and their very own dragon:
You’ve been to the Great Wall? Alaska should be easy then. Love the photos… wish I’d been there!;-)

Beautiful photos and great timing to get both blue skies and so few visitors. The Great Wall is even older than you realize, and was first built back in the Qin Dynasty (221 BCE–206 BCE).

Mutianyu is my favorite section of the great wall- stunning scenery, safe walls. I think, for a lot of people, they don’t even realize they are passing by the ancient walls when passing thru the silk road. You got there on a good blue-sky day, lucky you!
