Getting around in Southern Africa can be slow and uncomfortable: roads are often little more than tracks, and on more major roads the traffic can be bad. My first trip around Kenya was entirely by road and I wasted 2 or 3 days  of the 14 day holiday travelling.

The easier way is to use light aircraft, either scheduled or private charter.  It is fast and efficient, and fun too.  Moreover, because the small planes fly low, you have good views of the terrain, and can even do some game spotting if lucky.
