150 million… that’s how many hot dogs will be consumed tomorrow as part of US Independence Day celebrations; along with 190 million pounds of beef and 700 million pounds of chicken and 500 million gallons of ice cream.

Happy 4th July celebrations to all my US friends!
Those are some staggering statistics – 500 (thousand or million) gallons of icecream? It must be 500,000 gallons. That’s a lot of sugar and fat accumulating…..

The stats definitely say 500 million. That’s around 1.5 gallons per person – does seem a lot!

I’ve seen people eat a pint of ice cream and others have admitted to binging on a quart – but a gallon or a gallon and a half? That would mean a lot of sugar comas around the nation!

I am not a hot dog person. I can eat once in awhile, but not often. Looks like a lot of people enjoy them.

And some will be consumed at my house! It will only be me and my 86 year old mom but we are having grilled hot dogs and other picnic fixin’s to celebrate. It doesn’t seem like the 4th of July without a hot dog or two.

Flag displaying in Australia can be seen by some as nationalism not patriotism. A little like your confederate flag, it has been unfortunately hijacked by bigots. It is tainted by containing the English Union Jack. Have a great holiday.

Wow… those statistics are quite something… Most astounding is the large number of Americans owning the flag. I don’t think they do that in India!
