If you know Malmö from watching The Bridge TV series. you may be interested to know that there is an exhibition about the programme running in the Science and Maritime House until September 2016. A colourful note: cornflower is a shade of medium-to-light blue that became a Crayola colour in 1949.
This term is a favourite one for describing blue eyes and it was a favourite hue for the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. It has a wide variety of other uses but the most surprising one for me is the German popular song “Kornblumenblau” which takes pleasure in celebrating drunkenness, blau apparently being German slang for “drunk” (not something I learned when I studied the language).
