Three Bridges, Great Contrast

a1_20160306_20160306_Edinburgh_04700524_8192 x 1856

Protected, to Recently Broken, to Unfinished

This panoramic shot captures three hugely contrasting bridges across the Firth of Forth.  From left to right, we have the red, majestic, 1890 Forth (rail) Bridge, now a Unesco World Heritage Site; next the 1964 Forth Road Bridge that was recently diagnosed with a crack, resulting in closure from 3 December 2015 to 20 February 2016; and finally, the Queensferry Crossing, a new road bridge due to be completed in 2016.

Oh, and a further contrast: brilliant sunshine and Scotland!
