Castel Meur, Plougrescant, Brittany, September 2016
This house was squashed into the protective gap between two rocks on the north Brittany coast in 1861 – well before planning permission was required.
Whilst those impressive boulders provide insulation and protection against the elements, they also attracted some over-zealous tourists who clambered on both the rocks and the roof of the house. A restrictive wall has now been added to provide protection against uninvited visitors.
