So did you walk all the way across and back? Wanted to when our daughter lived in Brooklyn but never got a roundtoit.

Yes. Out on Brooklyn, back on Manhattan. The sun came out for the return walk and you are walking on the side rather than in the middle so the views are better. I really enjoyed it and I think it will be a regular walk for me on trips to New York!
