You won’t see much Banksy work around London these days, but a few that remain have been covered with perspex for protection; you’ll find a classic example of a police man and poodle at Cargo on Rivington Street.
Rather more unusual is a 3D piece at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Showing its age, is a pink Triumph GT6 sitting atop a shipping crate under a perspex box. The car was there before Banksy, but he painted it and added a skeleton driver. Sadly, vandals apparently took a dislike to the ghostly character, defacing the work and smashing the window. The window is now covered with chipboard and the car has its protective box.

I agree. Street art is in that strange position of temporary art / experiment / political testament / …. that will undoubtedly be added to or covered. But sometimes the amendments are just vandalism
