You won’t see much Banksy work around London these days, but a few that remain have been covered with perspex for protection; you’ll find a classic example of a police man and poodle at Cargo on Rivington Street.
Rather more unusual is a 3D piece at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. Showing its age, is a pink Triumph GT6 sitting atop a shipping crate under a perspex box. The car was there before Banksy, but he painted it and added a skeleton driver. Sadly, vandals apparently took a dislike to the ghostly character, defacing the work and smashing the window. The window is now covered with chipboard and the car has its protective box.

Wow it makes a wonderful photo with those stacked coloured benches too. I’d love to see it for real.

I didn’t know about this Banksy work. I like the coloured benches in the foreground of the shot. #MySundayPhoto

I have to admit I had seen it a long time ago (without the benches stacked in front) and had no idea it was a Banksy

Shame some people tried to ruin it. I love the coloured benches

I agree. Street art is in that strange position of temporary art / experiment / political testament / …. that will undoubtedly be added to or covered. But sometimes the amendments are just vandalism

Stop it, Debbie. I was in London in May, and even Brick Lane. You just aggravate the itch to get back there 😉

His new pieces are quite rare these days but he has a fascinating hotel in Bethlehem!
