These valiant shoppers had queued all of Friday night for the opening of this store and were now eagerly awaiting the opening of the doors. The queue tailed back down the road beyond view.
As I walked past again Saturday evening, there were still around 50 people settled on the floor, armed with mats, blankets and suitcases, ready for another night!

No long waiting lines in front of stores and marts in Karachi but we do have mega-sales throughout the year, especially on clothing items.
And on such occasions, it is safe to stay at home 😀

I’d say they’re mad queuing for that long, but I used to queue for the Next sale queue – admittedly only early morning rather than anything overnight.

I used to do that too – when my daughter was young as their kiddy clothes were a tremendous bargain in the sale.

It’s the same in Malaysia, where they love their shops and their shopping – it’s practically the national sport. You can’t go more than a couple of miles in any direction in KL and surroundings without coming across another mega-mall.
