I love Arles in the summer because of the international photo exhibition. I only visited very briefly this year but it seemed less crowded than when I’ve been in late August.

More traffic then people. But we were staying in the country so weren’t use to lot of cars. South of France is my new Happy place

It is well outside ether old town so no big issue – and they are adding gardens and a lake.
Whether people like the design or not is another matter

No, the old town is undamaged and lovely.
But oh too hot!
Might be worth considering an earl;y July visit next year when the Rencontres exhibition first opens.

I’m not a big fan of the building. It seems more dumpy than I expected. But it is just part of a major renovation of old workshops, which are looking good and are a great place for art displays and the like. It’s due to be finished next year and I’m keen to see it.
