Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, October 2018
You are welcome to play chess outdoors at this cafe in Princes Street Gardens on Thursday and Sunday afternoons, weather and season permitting.
If you enjoy chess, and even if you are a patzer, you can indulge your pleasure outdoors in many cities around the world.
And if you’re wondering what patzers and wood-pushers are, well, they are inept chess players, just like me! Patzer was word of the day from dictionary.com yesterday, and I couldn’t resist using it.

My dictionary didn’t have “patzer” in it. I had to Google it. Then I saw your definition when I got back.

Ha ha! I don’t know if there’s a specific level of ineptness linked to the word! 😂

It’s good isn’t it. I’m feeling quite superior now I have a name like that!
