Les Baux-de-Provence, France, August 2017

Les Baux-deProvence is a stunningly beautiful, and much-visited, French village. It runs along a steep hillside in the south of France, not far from Arles.

It has stunning views, both out and in, with its fortified chateau well worth a clamber.

The greens were tinged with dry yellow in the battle against the sun on my summer visit

But nature perseveres. And humans do too – adding some glorious splashes of colour around town.

Though not everything is real!

    • Brian, we have probably bumped into each other somewhere without knowing!
It’s a wonderful village and I was there mainly to see a Henri Cartier Bresson exhibition – part of the main Arles photo exhibition. What a setting for one of my favourite photographers.
