Thanks to everyone for your cultural observations last week. You showed us great variety of cultures around the world, with Maori tradition winning on popularity as there were 3 separate posts on that topic. I was a bit disappointed to see no yoghurt, but I do have to give special thanks to David for a stunning image of a Petri dish in full flow. And thanks to Elke, too, as she combined two of my favourite topics in one – books and beer.

Would expect for a city like London to have an ice rink:) Here, it was 70 degrees today, so no ice – but ice cream, and (I had) an iced drink:) Thanks for hosting:)

Such an interesting time of day for light, that change between the light in the sky and the light from the buildings, and I really like how blue the ice looks. We had plenty ice when I took these photos, but in the upcoming week, it and all the snow is going to vanish. Have to enjoy it while we can.

I did not know that there is an ice rink in London. I had a look in Internet and saw there are a few of them around, even the Natural History Museum has one: the changing face of my home town.

We have a lot of them – a new one pops up each year I think. I reckon it started with the one in the courtyard at Somerset House and now anywhere with enough space opens up for winter revenue.
