This jagged Giant Redwood lost much of its giantness when struck by lightning. What’s more, it was struck twice, first in 1987 and again in 1999.
It is now a lesser lightning attractor.

If we’re out riding in Wyoming and it starts raining hard, we generally take cover under a tree of some sort. Of course, the advice is always don’t stand under a tree, but with trees everywhere, I figure that odds that our tree will be hit are fairly slim. But if this guy can be hit twice, I may have to re-think that. 🙂

My answer was going to be “not anymore” 🙂 But you got me thinking and I had to google it – it seems we have quite a few, with one report of tallest in New Forest and another saying Bedfordshire.
