King’s Library Tower, British Library, London, November 2023
This six-storey glass and bronze tower houses over 65,000 books that were collected by George III and gifted to the British people by George IV in 1823. The tower was built specifically to hold this collection of books and it makes a striking sight in the centre of the British Library. Many of the books are accessible to readers at the library.

I remember this well, at how this precious collection is so creatively visible for us to admire, at how beautifully it is housed and displayed. Love your very unique view and capture of it.

Great shot of a building I know well – very well observed, as always 🙂

It has taken me time to really love this new British Library (it opened in 1997), but now I love the light and shapes in the interior design. And this book tower is gorgeous

It has taken a bit of time! Maybe a bit architecturally biased?

I think post-modern is a bit of a challenge. And I loved the rooms in the British Museum that held the British Library in my younger days!

I went to the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney recently and I wasn’t overly enamoured with the new building either
