A sculpture by Jaume Plensa, Bordeaux, France, May 2017
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

Very cool art, reminds me of the sphinx in Egypt. My photo is of art of a less intentional kind: https://fakeflamenco.com/2024/09/28/antique-windows-light-our-cupboard-door/

Oh I had seen a similar one in Barcelona earlier this year! Now I know the artist, thanks to you, Debbie 😀. My entry here:

Ah yes, the Barcelona one is good too. In a perfect setting next to the beautiful Palau de la Musica. It is hard to ignore his work as they follow you around!

What a statue. I’ve seen more of Plensa’s work at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. He makes quite a statement with his work.

Doesn’t he just! I timed a visit to Valencia to see a display of his in the water. Stunning but I couldn’t turn it into a square!
And I still have to get to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park!

Oh, you’d have a field day in YSP, though the Plensa was only a temporary exhibition.

This is amazing. I saw this in Bordeaux in 2016 but I didn’t realise that it was a permanent sculpture. Glad to see it again through your eyes.

This was taken in 2017 so I’m not sure if it is still there. Though many of his works are permanent features.

Hopefully it is still there. It brings beauty to the wide space that it is located on.

Yes, it definitely follows you around. And it changes as you walk around it. Next time I find one I must do a video of it.

So cool. — I couldn’t find anything to match it or with an allusion so I went back to titles of novels for my sixer today: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2024/09/28/the-man-who-would-be-king/

You’ll love it, Jo. I coincided with a boat festival which was great fun. I felt entirely at home in this city -a place I could easily live in.
