Uniqlo, Coal Drops Yard, London, October 2024

A peak from inside the store, showing off the old brickwork of this former coal drops shed, built in 1851, and now home to Uniqlo.
Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS. You’ll find me on Instagram @travel_travel_with_intent and @dsmythphoto

I love repurposed industrial buildings. Great looking. Excellent capture. My photo is floral today: https://fakeflamenco.com/2024/10/12/next-summer-ill-make-hibiscus-tacos/

It’s always fun to visit the Coal Drops Yard area. Thanks. I’m more rustic in my post: https://margaret21.com/2024/10/12/the-largest-antlers-in-studley-royal/

What a contrast, beautiful natural light in what was once a damp dark space. I love the way Coal Drop has been handled, it’s much better than other projects in the city. http://alondonmiscellany.blog/2024/10/12/stories-play-they-dance-they-sway/

Good to see another of the buildings from our industrial past repurposed rather than lost….Coal Drops Yard is ever evolving! Here’s my 6: https://suejudd.com/2024/10/12/seen-in-a-corner-some-contrast/

Good to see using the old to great advantage. Is the building heritage listed?

What a great wall. I mean a great wall not a great wall. If you know what I mean. It’s wonderful when old buildings are re-purposed (but expensive as far as I know). Sometimes there seem to be no viable solutions: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2024/10/12/were-waiting-for-a-new-purpose/

It is good that many of our old buildings are recycled…. we have lost much of our heritage, particularly industrial, thanks to the bulldozer. Not all past buildings have to be Palaces as in my 6WS :https://davidoakes-images.com/2024/10/12/6ws-6-word-saturday-challenge-22/

Beautiful wall. Love the way the light plays along it giving it different shades of red.
