Socialist realism

Geometry played a strong role in Soviet art – its rigid lines and rules fitted well with the brazen propagandist art showing industry, life and culture. Often called Socialist Realism it was somehow extra-real, or maybe not real at all.

    • I think you’re right, Margaret. Although the style was very recognisable I did enjoy my wander around this site without too many thoughts of Communist rigours.
      it is now a very green area with fountains and plenty of trees. I think some of this has been added more recently.
