The people were very respectful of the emergency vehicle, standing well away from it. It’s not unusual to see otherwise here. Cars too, not pulling over.

You caught a great variety of red in that shot, Debbie. I think this is a difficult word to show in a photo without explanation. Or even with.

This was a tough one, Debbie, but I finally found something I think works.

I like the red, I don’t like the emergency. When I came home yesterday at night there was an emergency at the tram station which is about 300m from our home. The light was blue, though: 2 police cars, 1 police van, 2 ambulances, 1 emergency doctor vehicle. A person on a stretcher which I saw from the side of my eyes when I was biking past. The blue light was very eerie, it was reflected in windows quite a few houses up the street. … Let’s forget about the visuals, listen to an emergency (it’s a weird thing to say on a photo blog): https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/07/20/warning-sirens/

That sounds bad – such a big response.
I would have liked sound to play with this phot – you get a human voice over the siren asking you to get out of the way please.

My ‘Emergency’ is a little tongue in cheek 🙂 https://davidoakes-images.com/2025/07/20/ows-one-word-sunday-emergency/

I love it! I reckon about 20% of emergencies are food-related
