A colourful note: turquoise blue was a new shade for Crayola back in 1935.
Turquoise is named after a gem of the same name, a gem that was originally imported from Turkey. No surprise then, that the word turquoise comes from the French for Turkish.
The first recorded use of turquoise as a colour name in English dates back to 1573.

Travel with Intent 
A great shot of this Icon Volkswagen. We had a camper Volkswagen many years ago. We loved traveling in it with our children. Love the color and the history of Crayola’s year to bring us turquoise to color with. Thanks for sharing this photo with Blue Monday.

One of my most favorite colors. When I was a child in the 60’s Turquoise Blue and Pink were my favorite crayons.
