  1. Knowing about the English weather, at least in Edinburgh the sun was shining:) The design is great for a black and white! Many thanks for linking up with All Seasons!

    • The gardens themselves date back to 1772.
      The monument is to 1st Viscount Melville (1742-1811), a man once described as ‘the uncrowned king of Scotland’. The 150ft tall column was designed in 1821

  2. The pillar is boring on its own. The people pretty uninteresting. But in the one picture together, the contrast produces a different atmosphere entirely.
