The United Kingdom’s General Election last week was the first to be held in December since 1923. Not a relaxing way to head into Christmas. Here are some shots of the streets around Westminster and Downing Street the day after the vote.

That depends on how you define democracy – but it was good to see that everyone is allowed to speak (even if not heard) and i was very impressed by the police who controlled a couple of tense situations very calmly.

Oh, Steve Bray was such a friend and support to North Yorkshire for Europe. I wonder how he’s feeling now, having invested his whole recent life in campaigning to stay in Europe?

He was one of the few people who still had the strength to come out on the streets on Friday. But he must have been so sad inside, like oh so many of us.
