Lockdown to battle COVID-19 has given a huge boost to the environment in a number of countries. Pollution levels have plummeted, and wildlife and nature are enjoying it. The peaks of previously hidden mountains are visible, fish are relishing the clear waters, and animals have turned car parks and city streets into their playgrounds.
Here in St Albans, it seems that those once thought extinct are roaming again.

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

Yes, At first thought a child had been playing there and forgotten to take it home. But it was still there today, so I’m thinking it was lost somewhere and someone has put it in the bush hoping it will be found.

Everything has changed out there in our wide world. Change I think and in many ways hope we adopt. It is those clear blue skies that are so deep and air that here doesn’t taste or feel polluted… and we thought we lived in a relatively clean environment.

Aaaahh, a plastopod playosaurus! And the one underneath is the lignified version (yes, I had to look up the nerdy word for “turning into wood”).
I’ve gone soft … this week, I fear: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/05/16/love-on-a-hard-concrete-bench/

He was a great little find. I was rushing home when I spotted him so he’s just a quick iPhone snap, I’m heading back there later today to see if he’s still roaming.

Peace to you too.
Sadly, just after writing this I saw an article on the opposite effect in Africa. Poaching is on the increase – lack of tourists and money means reduction in anti-poaching measures, and poverty is growing with no tourism income so poaching is more attractive to those in need.

Perfectly poised! I love the pop of colour you’ve given him, Debs 🙂 🙂 A friend here lives in the countryside and chameleons are regular visitors to her garden. I’m jealous!
