Milan Cathedral on Liberation Day, 25 April 2023

Now over to all of you. Do come and join us in our Saturday six-word musings.
I’ll admit that many of us openly break the numeric rule and share far more words (all excellent of course!) so the key rule is to have a title of six words – and then create around that the post that you desire! Perhaps in bunches of 6 words if you’re feeling inspired.
To join the challenge, please put a link in your post to the URL of this post. Then come back here and leave us a comment. If you have any problems with linking, just put your own URL into the comment. And do feel free to socialise digitally – tweet, instagram, flickr, etc. with the hashtags #SixWordSaturday and #6WS.

It’s been a busy day, I’m late, and you already have tomorrow’s link up (which I greatly appreciate.) But better late than never, right?

Lovely façade. Thanks, I hadn’t seen the Milan cathedral before. My photo is far sillier, https://fakeflamenco.com/2023/04/29/could-this-be-the-real-yoda/

An amazing sight to see isn’t it. The mix of styles that blend so well. I guess there must have been a bit of passing building the cathedral from father to son – be nice if there was a father to daughter wouldn’t it?
The original drawings compared to the finished building would be good to see.

Yes, I would love to know more. I didn’t get into the museum, which may well have answered some of those questions.

Super to see the rainbow flag flying high and with pride outside the cathedral! Mine in more medicinal than theological: https://denzilnature.com/2023/04/29/herb-paris/

Yes, and the term edifice is a great choice, Sue. Matches its size!

A building with quite a history … and with history being made just in front of it by the way things look.

It was a very lively day! Everyone was out celebrating Liberation, and it was great to see people representing different parties and beliefs marching and celebrating together.

Yes, it was my third visit to Milan and finally I got a day without rain! And the cathedral looked more impressive in sunlight

Impressive! The amount of imagination and then work that went into constructing it is unfathomable to me.

Same here. It took six centuries to complete and is made up of multiple architectural styles and the ideas of many people.

Yes, it has received very varied comments over its life, many being critical, but the size and the work that went into creating it are jaw-dropping
