Physical energy

Renowned Victorian artist and sculptor, GF Watts (1817-1904), made his last submission to the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in 1904, the year of his death.  It was a bronze cast of his Physical Energy plaster model, a striking equestrian sculpture.

113 years later, a new bronze cast of that piece stands back at the Royal Academy, welcoming all who enter the courtyard on Piccadilly.
