Germans are quite generous with English swearwords. They do not understand how truly offensive they are to native speakers. A case in point is the word “shitstorm”. It is used whenever there is a minor/major case of concerted criticism. The bars for calling something a “shitstorm” are much higher in the English speaking world.

The f-word is used quite generously in the US as well worldwide which is a shame. I detest it.

I don’t like it but – I know quite a few swearwords in different language and there is
nothing so satisfying as the combination of these three sounds if one really needs to vent one’s anger.
